PHWN Strategy 2006

Print friendly version of this page

The focus of the project in its current phase (late 2006) is on piloting an online groups platform. This is a result of feedback from the sector that the development of a common platform would be preferrable to multiple platforms developing. The current focus of the project is on:

- piloting Community and Public Health Online Groups CAPH caph.org.nz

The link above will take you to CAPH. The first paper below sets out specifications for such a system, and the second is an earlier paper on the suggested way forward to meet these needs. The third is another earlier paper on which details these needs.

Specifications for shared workspace

This paper sets out specifications for a shared workspace which is to be piloted by the PHWN project.

Common Shared Workspace Development - Way Forward to Meet Public Health Sector General Web Needs

This paper suggests a possible way forward to meet the set of public health sector generic web needs identified by the project in its work so far. Consistent with work by E-Government on piloting government shared workspaces and with the direction of related iniatives in community networking, the concept being considered is the development of a common shared workspace which would ultimately work across the public health and related sectors. The details are set out in this non-technical paper.

Sector Web Needs

This earlier paper (August 2004) details the set of sector web needs identified in the course of the projects work with sub-sectors within pubic health and with national stakeholders.
